There's lots of hatchery rainbows that size, in that creek. A guy just posted a couple of weeks ago, on Az anglers of 5 lunkers from that same area, one being bigger than this one.

I was always taught that for bright days you use bright flies, such as orange. If the waters murky green, then you use a green fly,...etc. its the same with night time, black sky means black fly.

Yeah, I just bought the 5 1/2 foot 2 weight, and paired it with the Orvis Battenkill 1. I haven't used it yet, though. It seems like they balance ok.
