Learning to tie
Mar 06, 2018 - 9:37 PM - by dp820
Hey guys. I thought I would pick your brains here. I have been fly fishing for several years now and decided that this year I would like to begin the daunting task of tying my own flies. I have purchased a vise and the basic tying tools but I am at a bit of a loss as to how to learn this art. Would you guys recommend I take a class? Building a Boat for the High Mountain Lakes
Mar 13, 2018 - 11:04 AM - by Seldomseen
I have some physical restrictions which will require me to minimize the risk of falling for most of the next year. Not that I am into falling to begin with, but some of my favorite fishing spots often have slippery footing, so a little refactoring is warranted.

Route to Big Lake
Mar 08, 2018 - 8:21 PM - by Bucksnort
Today, I was told that in May the route to Big Lake by way of Payson to Show Low and Pinetop will likely be closed so the route to take is from the south. Do I have this correct when I say the southern route would be Gilbert to Globe then U.S. 70 to U.S. 191 then north to Big Lake through Alpine?

Lower Salt River
Sep 15, 2017 - 8:28 AM - by Bucksnort
I spoke to an angler who floats the Salt and fishes with spinning rods. He puts in at the parking area where the road to Saguaro Lake crosses over the Salt then goes downstream a couple of miles. I have forgotten the name of his take out point. He says he does it in inner tubes but I don't know just how these are arranged.

I have a pontoon boat which is powered either by oars or flippers or both. When the weather turns cooler, I may be interested in doing this.
