Rio Fly Clips/Twist Clips
Jan 10, 2019 - 9:20 AM - by ejcrist
Anyone use those fly line clips made by Rio or similar clips made by others that you tie on the end of your tippet so you can simply clip flies onto rather than tying them on? I've never used them but they seem like they'd make changing flies pretty easy and quick. I don't doubt their strength but I have no idea if fish would be put off by them or not. I also worry it might affect a fly's action in the water. Sometimes I like to use a Duncan Loop which I think gives a fly an excellent natural... [Read More]

Hellgrammites in AZ
Jan 07, 2019 - 7:05 AM - by ejcrist
Anyone successfully used a Hellgrammite pattern anywhere in AZ? The reason I'm asking is because I read they're found from the midwest to the east coast, and along the Pacific coast, but rare in the Rocky Mountains and Great Basin states. I'm in the process of tying a couple of Smallmouth patterns... [Read More]

Dead Horse Ponds
Jan 03, 2019 - 2:47 PM - by Tying2Fly
Anyone know if these ponds are fishable at the Dead Horse Ranch St Park near Cottonwood? Are they covered with ice? Are they still getting stocked since it has been cold last few weeks? I am thinking it might be ok to fish as I might be up that way in a few weeks to visit with some family.

Expired fishing license fine
Nov 26, 2018 - 12:20 PM - by tenpoundlunker
So I have a stupid question for you guys. I fished Silver Creek the other day, and got popped for an expired fishing license that expires a couple months ago. I have lived here 30 years and always had a valid fishing license. Well my dumb***** didn't realize it expired in September. I was so used to them being good for the whole year that I spaced it. Anyways got a ticket. I literally have been checked twice in 30 years here. Does anyone know what kind of fine that carries? Or if they can be... [Read More]

I found this link to the American Museum of Fly Fishing on another BB.

This is a great read about John Voelker, Michigan Supreme Court Justice, and author who published "Anatomy of a Murder under the pseudonym of Robert Traver. He also published Trout Madness, Trout Magic, Anatomy of a Fisherman and many other books.
