I see someone is thinking about some mousing. Drag that over the weedtops for pike or bass should get a smashing hit. You must have fall pike in the shallows of some weedy lake in mind.

Josh is always on the look out for the modern fly patterns. I think the young man has never tied a fly with out some sort of modern day material. We live in a plastic world.

Hey... Did he just take a shot at me??

I can/could tie with traditional materials, I simply choose not to!

Your right about the plastic world!! It is funny how when I go out with wife and she wants to stop at craft or sewing/fabric stores, I now don't balk at going in with her because I am on the lookout for fly-tying stuff: Beads, feathers, thread, and who knows what else. However, I am also always looking out for the natural stuff too. Last week I was just heading back out from fishing at Woods Canyon Lk. and a squirrel dashed out in front of my car. I had no time to avoid him and sure enough I knew my tires hit him. He was a goner and actually I felt bad about it for sometime for 2 reasons. 1- for unable to avoid hitting him. 2- for not going back and making use of the now dead animal’s tail and fur and such as fly tying materials! Am I becoming demented?

By the way I like the gutlessfrog! I have some of those type of hooks and been wondering what I should use them for?

I really like that idea! I think if you filled that middle section in with something (maybe some squirrel tail or maribou) it could look even better without effecting the hookset. Going to have to tie up some of those.
