Neat Flies

I can't believe how much precision there is in those small flies. I've GOT to get better at tying.

Thanks all. For some odd reason I enjoy tying the micro patterns over most others.

Pauly, I am going to have retract what I said about Coats and Clark. The diameter is to big when you get down to the 20 - 24 and I just don't like the taper and profile. I picked up some Uni 3/0 Tan and some Kevlar Tan that I am going to try, else I am going to have to break down and order some gudebrod.

I still have a few more to post including my blatent knock off of the Shucka Khan and my take on the NDN Mysis pattern that Chief showed me last year @ Junauary. Also the NV midge, UFO, Rainbow Warrior, WD40, etc... Can't wait to try out all these new patterns on the Juan...

Josh

Alpine any ETA on when the book will go on sale? Preorders?

I have been watching Roy Christie for some time now and that guy is a freakin genius! His Hackle Stacker is one of my all time favorite flies.

I have not been over to SS in quite a while. I would be very interested in participating in the Sno-Fly VI swap.

Josh, I agree C&C is a thick diamter, too thick for 22's and smaller, I think it is fine for 20's and larger. I like the buggy look to it. The Gudebrod is a tighter weave so does not have the little stray fibers. Some tiers use, I believe it is called Corticelli, which has a little thinner diameter than Gudebrod. Not sure they are still in business but can find it on ebay! Nice ties Josh, you are really good man! Last I heard, Ricks book is due out in I believe August, but don't quote me.

I have been fishing micro-midges since 1979 they are so easy to tie and don't take anytime at all.....midges are a old and very effective pattern.
