Looking For that great Mini-Hopper
I am interested in either finding the Mini-Hopper flies to buy or pattern to tie myself, but it has been a few years past since I got a few of them from a fly-swap and cannot remember who (from this forum) tied them.

Great fly. I have had better luck modifying the legs to foam legs. When they float high they get smashed....drowned or in the film...not so much.

kad you bring up an interesting point.
I on the other hand love it when my dry's sit low. Newby tied some awesome stims in two particular colors a few years ago for me. They sit low and really catch. Ben's hoppers are pretty much a go to fly for me too. I love the simplicity of the design and the execution. |

To the OP. there's a couple videos on tying the mini hopper on youtube if you want to tie them yourself, but yeah, Ben has that pattern down better than anybody. If you arent invested in tying them go grab some of those beauties from him.
