Just about ready to hit the road in the AM. Drive safe and keep the tunes rockin'. Remember to bring wood as were trying to get 3 cords up there.

Biscut is at the Hideaway. He says he has some wood, but bring more!

Teaser rainbow from the Juan

Three of us from the Northern Arizona Flycasters went to the San Juan then on to the Denver Fly Fishing Show (Jan. 8-10) then back to the Juan for two more days of fishing. If you have never been the the Show you are truly missing out on a great event. It's held every January and you may want to get up there next year. Lots of great seminars, venders, and gear to look at. Anyway, thought I'd post a photo of my big rainbow from Wednesday's float. He took a #20 copper bead-head zebra midge. A personal best 'bow from the Juan. I'll bet the guys over there now will be posting similar catches when they return next week. The river is fishing very well but not a lot of hatches. Red larvae and zebra midges were the ticket. Fish 'em off a thingamabobber about 9' deep with two #4 split shot. I was using 5x flourocarbon and it didn't seem to deter the strikes.

Well everyone, I can't make it after all! This morning at work I hyper-extended my foot and ankle after a hydraulic cart ran me down. Physical therapy 3 times a week and wearing a stupid looking bledsoe boot are my life for the next couple of weeks. At least there were no broken bones, but the damn doc said "absolutely NOT" when I asked about fishing. I'm bummed like you wouldn't believe!!!

Sorry to hear about the no fishing. Gives you some tying time to catch up on refilling the fly boxes for spring.

Green Valley Lake in Payson has a fishing dock which will accomodate your recliner. Or I guess you could just balance yourself from your walker while casting . There ought to be SOME form of recuperative and/or therapeutic value in there somewhere.

Then a nice burger from Macky's down the road once your done.
