Big Water Rod

Anyone have a heavy rod? 6'6" or more for down rigging? I know its not fly fishing, but I am hitting a boat when I go back to San Diego and wanted to bring a rod, I have a few but mine are all sun rotted because they were my dads from the 60's. I am looking to purchase one of good to decent condition, or possibly borrow one, I have my Penn No500 jig master reel already

I probably have something a bit shorter, if you are going to rock cod, you should use something a little heavier than a jigmaster though.

I'll ask around, Kyle, as some friends have old boat rods they may part with.

I am not too knowledgeable about rods in general. So dunno if this is helpful or not. Albright has some 6'-6", 7', and I think 7'6" CASTING rods discounted severly right now. I think it was $79.95.

Here da link iffen it helps any.

Alex, I have a 7' Ugly Stick that I used to use for big blue cats on the James River in Virginia. Has been sitting in my garage since I retired from the military. Your welcome to come and get it. Used to use level wind reels on it and is a great meat stick. I'm up in Continental Ranch off of Cortaro Rd. Give me a call at (520) 631-8425. Ed
