Big Bass Bucktails
Thought I would post a few other variations of this pattern.
Pattern steps for Maximus. The first 4 steps are the same for any variation. 1. Start with a base of white bucktail tied on the top ot the hook even with the hook point. 2. Tie in a white hackle facing DOWN. (natural curve would point up) You are building a platform for the rest of the materials. 3. Tie in Pearl Krystal Flash. 4. Flip hook or rotate vise and tie in another clump of white bucktail just behind the hook eye. From this point you just reverse the order with any combination of flash, hackle, bucktail. You can also use Diamond Hair, Congo hair, Pseudo fur, Peacock, etc.. 5. Tie in flash. 6. Stack and tie in hackle(s) facing UP. (natural curve would point down) The tips should line up with, or just past the white hackle. 7. Hand mix bucktail by clipping small clumps and rolling between fingers, then stacking. 8. Crown with a small pinch of long black bucktail or peacock barbs. 9. Tie in fish scale or flash along each side. This should have built up a good size head. If not add a few more wraps of thread and whip finish. 10. Slide a short length of mylar tubing over the front of the fly. Start thread to bind down and whip finish. 11. I use a Pro Weld pen but a hot needle works just as well to clean up the head. 12. Eyes and a few good coats of Sally Hansons or Loon Hard Head. Thanks Josh. P.S. Mods can I get this moved to the Open Box forum?

Is this pattern similar to Trey Comb's "Sea Habit" Series?

You have any photos of these bad boys wet? Just wondering what they look like in the water.
