Unhappy Flagstaff, AZ

Well we fished up there, kinda, Alex really put all his energy into trying to catch a pike, Aaron and I would not launch our pontoons due to the white caps on the lakes. I could not cast my 8 weight for the life of me. When the wind calmed down I got a small hit on my fly line not my fly. Alex thought to have gotten one hit. All in all Wind is a jerk. We did stop in Flagstaff's Babbits Fly Shop, and they were very very friendly with plenty of info for us. I think we had the right gear and did nothing wrong, just could not locate the fish. Do you think they are moving deep with this choppy water? Also to bad the waters all look like coffee!

In my limited experience with pike fishing I found that on windy days the Pike generally hid out on the calmer side of points waiting to ambush baitfish that were getting pushed along with the wind.
