Best place to fish in October

1. Silver Creek
2. Chevlon Canyon
3. The Ferry
4. Canyon Creek

Where do you think is best this time of year?

Love Big Lake this time of year. The Elk really make a racket up there. Unfortunately, I am not much for fly fishing in still water. No float tube, etc.

I bet it is still a bit warm at the Chevelon. Fall sets in late there.

Fished Lower Canyon for a couple hours today. This is only my second time back since the fire. Used to spend a decent amount of time here. So happy to see how healthy this stream is. We saw a lot of fish. Unfortunately, most of them saw us first. Water is low and Sapphire Gin clear. Lost one (unknown) on the take, and landed an 11" rainbow, both about a quarter mile downstream from the Porto in a short visit. There's no reason to be in the water as easily spooked as the fish are, but if you need to cross, or for whatever reason, watch out for redds. Tight lines.
