It took me 11 years to get my first draw, 4A and a nice european on the wall and it was worth the wait!

Best way to prepare is put on a rack over a glass pan or pie plate if smaller and let it drip out the blood in the fridge (wrap the whole thing, meat and pan in saran wrap) for about 3-4 days and it's the nice rich elk flavor but no "game" aftertaste for those that are sensitive to it. I got mine a few years ago with my bow and it was awesome to get to go with my dad!
Awesome! Good for you (and him). If I get my elk I know a few guys who are going to be very happy to say the least.

I might have to get Kyle's recipe! Did I hear there was lard involved?

My Dad does game processing in Northern New Mexico so occasionally I get some meat brought to me when he visits. That's how I got all the meat. With as much as I got last year I only have a few packages left. As long as is stored well the meat can last for a while. Which reminds me I need to slice some buffalo for some carne seca (jerky).

I have done the muzzle loader draw... same results. I have enough hobbies (and not enough time), my wife would kill me if I added another.
