Here's To You

Somewhere, every weekend during the fishing season you are getting out of the sack at o'dark-thirty to travel several hours and many miles to pursue a little creature with a pea-size brain.

Some folks may wonder if it is you and not the fish that has the pea-size brain.
You have worked your *** off all week and instead of sleeping in like a normal person, you're up and at'em when only bad women and burglars are awake.

God only knows what kind of deal you may of had to make with your spouse or significant other. Payback can be **** I'm told.

So, with a Silver Bullet in my hand, "Here's to You."

Amen Chip!!!
What gets me is how tired I feel when I wake up for work in the morning yet when going fishing it's the complete opposite, and usually much earlier.
I'll give it all up when that stops happening.
You da man Chip!
"bad women and burglars"... Classic!

Here's to you as well, really enjoy all the Harvey P stories. It is interesting what makes us do some of the crazy things we do to catch some fish(or at least try to). It is nothing for us to drive 6-8 hours in a day to fish for a few hours. There is just something about that early morning solitude and the thoughts of the masses curled up in bed while we are in the middle of all of nature's splendor, enjoying the company of good friends and hoping a fish will rise. My favorite quote from a "River Runs Through It"; "When I am alone in the half light of the canyon, all existence seems to fade into a being with my soul and memories...a four count rhythm and the hopes that a fish will rise"..."Nothing perfect lasts forever, except in our memories". Cheers to all.

I like hanging around with those bad women at night. Breakfast fried eggs and a beer. Take a nap then fish the evening hatch. Here's to Chip Bud light in hand.

As I gaze at the pile of gear in my living room, ready for 6 days in the White Mountains, your words could not be more true, Chip.

So, fine sirs, I crack another beer and tie another fly in the spirit of adventures to come.
