Lee's Ferry

So, as Terry Gunn said in another thread, we hit the Ferry on the way home from Salt Lake.

We stayed the night at Cliff Dwellers and hit the walk-in the next morning. This was quite the whirl wind trip so we were a little tired and took our leisurely time getting to the water. We didn't get much fishing in before the water was up and fishing slowed down. If I could do it over again I would have been there a little earlier but I have no complaints as fishing was still okay.

From what Wendy said, fishing has been very good this winter and there is no sign of things slowing down.

Here is a picture of a hog I stuck this morning. It is a great Lee's Ferry fish!

Way to Go!

Congrats on the casting title...and the Ferry pig of the year. I remember when fish like that were almost common place on the river, but by any standards that's a fine fish. Tell me you took him on a dry and make my day!

I hate to tell you this but he was a meat eater. He ate a tan San Juan worm. There was a HUGE midge hatch going off but the fish weren't eating them on the surface. I did hook a couple on an emerger pattern.
