Any update?
I'm planning to fish the Ferry on Friday and Saturday and am hoping the conditions improve quickly!
I'd appreciate any information from anyone fishing the river this week.
Thanks - TBone

9/16 This note is from LFA guide Tyson Warren.

Just a little update note on how my day went. When we left the dock today it looked identical as the past few days. Very off color and more red than grey. But fishing was very good up river. The river had better water color quality and fishing was great until mid morning when the release got to us and shut down our morning. We got back in the boat, went up river and fishing was good until noon when the river started to cloud up again. We ate lunch and noticed that the river started to clear. So we decided to try to fish. What the heck if its bad we go in if not we stay. Fishing was very good and the water stayed at the same clarity for the rest of the afternoon. Can't wait to go out in the morning.

Walk-in report was good too.

We'll know more tomorrow and keep you posted. The fish have been on vacation for a week so when it does clear it could be epic fishing.

The scientific report on the turbid water release is in and it is good news! The water is clearing

Since no other sediment inputs are noted in the reservoir above the penstock withdrawal depth, it is expected that suspended sediment in the reservoir will continue to settle and turbidity in GCD releases will continue to decrease, but at an unknown rate. The fact that the majority of this sediment came from Wahweap Creek, which travels through the Mancos Shale, indicates that this is very fine sediment and it's sedimentation rate is much less that sandy sediment that would be contributed by Antelope or Navajo Creeks. However, extrapolation of the turbidity peak in GCD releases indicates that substantial clearing should occur by the end of this week, and possibly earlier.
