Seaweed Tibetan prayer flags

if it was just a little seaweed sticking to my hook point, I'd say I messed up by not tying some weedless flies....
One strip, two- draggy strip, draggier strip, used car lot flags hanging off my line at one foot intervals strip.....
Maybe I should walk a little further down the beach, or not

I fished for several hours most days and still got skunked. I tried the flies that worked last year plus a few given to me by the Shore Catch guide last year and one from Buzfly but, I couldn't get a follow.
I saw a cool horseshoe crab and followed it around the sandbar for a while..
Didn't see baitfish or bird action either....
One day was tropical clear with warm, clear blue water but most days the water was dark and rough and super cold. Too cold for swimming around in the waves.
Could it have been the hurricane spinning offshore or just a bad luck week for me?

LaValette NJ. Fished the surf as well as the bay. Wind was wicked but, I had a great wind rod with a sink tip line that is probably one or two weights over lined so it really loads up and let's line fly. It's a court land running line with some LC14 for the sink tip. About 13 feet of it.

OK I was wrong but I bet he was using his bath tub as a float tube.
