I've not been using a shooting line when trying to double haul. I watched the Mel Krieger video a bunch.....the motion is becoming easier but I think my major problem is my timing. Especially hauling on the front part of my casting stroke.

LostDutch I will take you up on the lessons but it may be a little while since I'm heading out of state for a few weeks.

Same here, leave on Wednesday to spend a month in Oregon,

agreed Blur.

Cast, drift, flip the line in front of you, one crisp back cast haul if you wish one crisp forward cast haul again if you wish and set that fly back on the water.

Unless one is trying to create their own hatch like Hank......
