Never floated it before. You have to be any good on the oar's? Because I suck at them lol.

It's an easy float so no, you really don't need to be an expert river runner. Pretty hard to screw up. Just basic common sense and a PFD and you will be fine.

don't have a PFD... I suppose I should get one lol. Well I guess I really do. But they are Orange and really big lol.

I have one of those inflatables which clips around your waist like a belt. There is a small handle with the word "Jerk" imprinted and an arrow pointing away from the PFD. I am not sure if it is instruction or accusation.

Instructions Mike! Funny stuff. Yes, you must have a PFD when floating the Juan. The waist belt ones are perfect, easy to use, they work, and they are out of the way.
