I have my maps program saying that "roads might be closed for winter". Am I good to go this way? Mainly wondering about Service Route 5 to NM 371N. No SUV for me but AWD.

Get on AZ-202 N in Mesa from E Elliot Rd
8 min (4.5 mi)

Take AZ-87 N and AZ-260 E to AZ-277 N in Heber-Overgaard
2 h 14 min (128 mi)

Take AZ-377 N to AZ-77 N in Holbrook
39 min (40.7 mi)

Follow I-40 E and US-491 N to San Juan County
2 h 25 min (157 mi)

Take Indn Service Rte 5 to NM-371 N
27 min (27.7 mi)

Continue on NM-371 N. Take Co Rd 7010 to NM-511 N
51 min (49.2 mi)

Follow NM-511 N to Rd 4255
13 min (8.5 mi)
Abe's Motel & Fly Shop
1793 New Mexico 173, Navajo Dam, NM 87419

I think that is the way through Crownpoint (hometown of CHIEF, if I am not mistaken)/Farmington/Bloomfield. It works.

You can also exit the 40 @ Gallup and take 491/64 to Farmington.

Or you can........................................there are a variety of options.

I am not sure about that bolded section. I would take the I-40 to the US491 or NM371. I would not do the combo of the two. Don't know anything about that 5 road.
