Allowed Memory for Images

I am wondering if everyone has same problem with posting images in their posts. Often when I try to upload images (specialy of flies I am trying to post in the weekly fly tying contests) I have to delete from "My Photos" several of my oldest photos in order to have room for my new ones. Is it the size of photo ( pixel, Kb) that uses up my space or the number of photos? It seams that I can only have a dozen or so and then have to get rid of a few before adding new ones.

Yes, use a lower resolution when taking the pic.

I use photobucket and have tons of pictures up there. But I dont know if AZFAT prefers to have the images hosted on the site, or if I'm doing a favor by not using up server space?

The best thing you can do to reduce the drive space with images hosted here is to make sure they are 640 pixels or less in width prior to upload.

You can even use MS Paint (All programs--->Accessories-->Paint) to reduce image size.

You are in fact do a favor for a few reasons.
1: They do have an allotted amount of server space.
2: Hosting images on the site in the gallery also sucks up bandwidth each time a thread is loaded with embedded images. Again, they have an allotted amount per month and going over that amount is an additional charge.

There are numerous other reasons as well that I wont get into..
