Big Lake

Any Big Lake reports?

Fly anglers were catching many smaller rainbows from a pontoon in South Cove yesterday, with an occasional cutthroat to 17". Brook trout were spawning in the shallow gravel areas but weren't biting.

There is still a bit of an algae bloom, but it's not bad. Water temperature was 52 F in late morning.

Aspens are gorgeous and elk bugling in the evening.

Can't ask for a better time to be in the White Mountains.

Man I hear ya!! I wish I were in the boonies right now. Or at least near trees and water.
