Tying2fly's Cicada

Sorry, i am a bit tired of doing hoppers, although they are usually the best bet to fish with for me. I decided to do a cicada or a least I tryed to do a cicada.

Sorry, was in a hurry and forgot to do build photo.

That's why I tried it.

Any idea on colors? I figured that anchovy was a safe bet.

The eyes are 2 beads attached together with a small piece of 20 lb Amnesia line melted at the ends to hold them.

Hey tyingtoo, your flies are looking better all the time. I may be wrong but, I like the hook to be a little bigger. I also try to get the wing to sit lower and/or splay it out a bit to the sides to hang over the sides. Sparse krystal flash works for me (sometimes.)
Looks like yours may land on it's side and I try for a more vertical float.
Just my opinion. There are way better tyers than me on this forum. Party on!

Good job Colton! Be sure to tie up some of the patterns in the book and share them with us!

I agree with your analysis. I was way to rushed on that fly. I had a meeting at my work that I had to go in early (early afternoon as I work nights) and my schedule was all off.
