I'll try it in black and natural hair versions

When I was up at Hawley I heard cicadas on the way in and thought "Man, I wish I had some of those hoppers in black and brown".

color it

hit it with a sharpie or 2. since they make then in many different colors now, it's easy to change a fly on the....fly. I carry a few colors in my gear bag

good point. or just hit 'em with what you got. most fish are stoo-pit. if the profile is right they just might hit it.

I know it's been debated ad nauseum but who really knows what a fish sees or how they perceive colors. I suspect looking up most dark colors look black. or not. I've been wrong before.

either way - pretty easy to carry a sharpie in yer vest or pack. should carry a note pad or post its as well in case you need to leave a message for someone somewhere.

any boy scout knows. be prepared.

Hmmm, good idea about the sharpie.

I do have an idea about cicadifying these though. I'll post it when I get it hammered out.

I'm bumping this up active to see if anyone has tried these. Either tying them or from a swap. I've been having good luck with them this year.

Yes, I'll tie one tomorrow and post it.

basically pic the colors you want, skip the turkey and deer hair underwing, and just use some kind of synthetic for the wing. I like using the white baitfish emulator stuff BPS sells.
