The official name;

Mods can I get this moved to the "Open Box" forum?

Thanks Josh

Looks good Josh. How long does it take you to tie one of those guys?

These are actually pretty quick to tie. It's just two Simi's with hackle and a deer hair collar. Since I am using the UV knot sense the head and eyes only take a minute. If you have to use Epoxy.... If you do leave the eyes and head out it becomes a really quick pattern to tie and probably just as effective.

I guess it would be a "Articulated Conehead Madonna"

Thanks Dub. I have fished the non-articulated version quite a bit. Tomorrow morning at the RP will be this versions maiden voyage... I spun up a dzn so I plan on throwing them in the Whites next weekend as well. Just hope the fish like them as much as I do.

I'm gonna have to try a bit of a variation on this pattern real fast. That looks interesting.

That is sick! Bet it would hammer the cruising browns up in the whites..

I'm hoping that even ferry fish will be chomping at the bit to hit these articulated patterns, especially the 18"+ fish. There are certain spots I do well with buggers and I'll bet these will be equally as effective but weed out the small guys a bit. Might be slower but you'll catch alot of bigger ones and maybe, if your lucky, one of the extremely elusive browns down near the Paria, still never caught one myself but they are there.

I'm hoping for a cloudy day when I get back home

Geez the Ferry fish are just going bonkers over this fly. I varied the pattern up slightly though. No conehead or deer hair head on mine. Just peacock SS and some schlappen for a collar. Makes the tie very quick (for my standards at least, I'm a slow and meticulous tier). I am going to have to try that beadalon wire stuff though on this as 20# backing does eventually get worn out and my articulated fly becomes a chomped in half fly Also the damn thing doesn't even weed out the small ones like I was hoping, even the 12"ers are willing to hit a 4" fly
