Your point is taken. As for me, I'll admit it was a little out of line.

Alternatively, as anglers, we should not have to "win over" G&F as they determine how much "quality" we deserve on the public waters. The point of my comment was merely that it would be nice to see fisheries managed sustainably, rather than as a clearance section at the back of a dollar store. It would be nice if they could brag about the fishery for more than just the week following a stocking event.

I make the #18 & #20 woolys for a friend of mine in Idaho when he fishes for sunfish, never tried them for trout though. I use a #18 renagade or dbl renagade for most of my trout fishin except on the Snake River were they seem to like #8 & #10 renagades.

I come across the "constructive criticism" lament (as it relates to the Arizona Game & Fish Department) a lot here. And it's often times followed up with the "there are really good people at the Arizona Game & Fish Department" reminder. I guess my problem is I'm old school - I expect people to be good at what they do. Don't think being good at what you do warrants any special commendation.

As to the "preferred and politically correct" components of "constructive criticism" on this forum, seems to me it's roughly 10 parts lavish praise and zero parts criticism. Which makes it neither - neither constructive nor critical. IMHO.

I think the Arizona Game & Fish Department does some good things, and they also do things that make me scratch my head. On the whole, I give them a C-. They have a lot of room for improvement. Again, IMHO.

Finally did it. I was fishing my 18 bugger just like the picture today at SC and was catching some Apachie and then wham, probably the only holdover from last winter, an 18' bow took the little bugger.

He was really black on the top and sides and looked like he was about to die from old age.

This little bugger is a keeper.
