Smoking banana peels

Has anybody smoked a grass carp? Do you always C&R these fish or are they food as well?

How would you keep it lit?

I do not know if this is a serious question or not? However, when I was a kid growing up we use to smoke carp and it was tasty. My mom would also can it and it was also tasty. You have to get all of the bones out of them they are boney.

The question in keeping it lit is use a torch. The will make you hallucinate like you peyote.

I've never fished for carp but, I'm thinking if I can catch one in clean water, I would eat it.

You place the carp, split in half on new cedar shingles, prop them up close to the fire and let them cook until done.

You then throw away the carp and eat the shingle.

Not to sound like some hillbilly but we ate carp as a kid. Mom said out of necessity I would also eat it out of clean water. Carp is big in Europe it is a game fish to them. Give it a try there are recipes on the web for it. Deep fry with batter would be my way of eating it.

I've heard that plank joke b4. It's a classic from my old Uncle Ray.
I need to figure out how to catch one now. Every time I cast to one, they ignore my fly or fly away.

Talk to someone from the south. I think they deep fry them (smaller carp) and eat the bones and all.

Ok Ok. All you gotta do is go fishing with SAT. You will catch all the carp whilst he hauls in a measly tilapia

No, the real trick is you gotta just keep the pretty orange ones they put in there for people to go "oooh! and Ahhhh!"at. They, I have been told have no bones about em.

I dated and almost married a Czech woman at one point. She would get these cravings for carp. On one such evening I took her to a super nice fish place - spent $30 on a salmon cut for her, and she said "it's good, but not as good a Czech carp."

So there you have it. The cure for the salmon shortage...
