Farm Pond Fishing for Bass

Saturday morning I went to a near by farm to do some fishing for bass. Holy crap fishing was A MA ZING.

the most memorable bass caught was when I was standing in the water and had my rod in my arms and looking at my fly box. What i didn't realize was that while fumbling through my fly fox, I didnt realize that I was making my popper bounce up and down on top of a thick patch of algae. BAAAM a bass popped through the algae and took my fly just three feet next to me.

Never caught anything like that but man it almost gave me a heart attack.

temps rose to 115 so i got the **** out of there. the heat was just unbearable.

So many invites to fish farm ponds in NW Missouri, but just too busy at the moment unpacking boxes coupled with minor mods to our new home. One day soon, one day soon...

toddthefrogg is right, its in California. there was a heatwave this past weekend.

one of the guys in our fly fishing club is buddies with the farm owner and he took me along. the fishing was amazing, but it smells like cows.

the best there are the bluegills (greatest fish on a fly), holy crap they fight so hard and they are giants on the farm.

the heat also shrank my crocs, now i have one shoe that's distorted and smaller than the other.
