Personal Flotation Devices

Now that these are required for use when using a pontoon boat, what kind is everyone using or could recommend? I got a friendly warning from a nice Game & Fish guy and don't want to push my luck! I'm thinking a belt type might work best.

I've got something similar and it works well. Cooler and you can use the oars without chafing. On hot days, I just dunk it in the lake and wear it wet.

It's my understanding that it just has to be on the boat, not on you.

Walmart is closing them out right now, buy one of the cheap orange ones and stash it behind you.

I bought, on sale at Wal Mart, a nice Class III PFD which is made like a fishing vest with pockets here and there. My plan was to wear it while in the pontoon boat; however, the first time I did this, the floatation pads in the back made leaning back awkward. I will have to figure out something. I don't want to remove the rear pads; otherwise, I will defurt the peapis or is that defeat the purpose of the PFD.
