Just finished this grip and rod

Just finished this 7' 6" 5wt blond rod with birch bark and cork grip.

The rod is complete and is already being fished by its new owner. I'll post an updated photo of the reel seat once I get a chance.

Stripper guide and wraps

This is the only other photo I have of this rod. This photo was taken after the guide was epoxied but before it was dipped in the varnish tube.

I like how there's a lot going on, but it all works together and is using the same palette. Beauty!

Thanks almostlost. I actually prefer a simple blond rod with a no-frills cork grip. Transparent silk thread with no fancy wraps or color preserver. In the case of this rod it was what the new owner wanted. She was happy with it and it gets her out on the streams and lakes instead of sitting at home.

I prefer rods dressed simple and clean as well. It looks like that translated into this rod in a way. A lot going on, but no gaudy colors. Looking forward to watching the boo builds.
