Having Problems with Photobucket? How to use Photobucket to post images

Hopefully this will become a sticky so that members can use Photobucket without the fees.

Photobucket has started to charge if you want to post your images. See this:
Terms | Photobucket
"Free account : Each individual Member gets one free account that provides 2 GB of free storage or space available for your original photo files, or videos under 10min. The free account does not allow any image linking or 3rd party image hosting."

If you don’t upgrade and try to post you get this:

Here is how to the free account to post.
I had to post my instructions below as an image file to get the text to show up because I am using sample commands in my post. I just loaded onto my Photobucket account to see if my new images worked. You can see that I can now post my images below:

Ok, so it doesn't look as though the above approach works any longer? Those Photobucket *******s!

What is the preferred photo sharing site? I've seen some people discussing Imgur and Flickr as PB alternatives. I just updated my most recent post on catching permit near Cancun (out of state reports)... I deleted the old, blocked PB images and inserted Drobox links but the links don't display in the post (suggestion here?) and the story just isn't the same without photos in the post. I'd appreciate any suggestions.

Isn't there a way we can at least get our PB images back on our computers? So we can use them on another site?

Working on that right now... downloading them back to my computer. Unfortunately these Class-I jagoffs aren't allowing me to download an album so I'm picking what I want one by one.

I downloaded all my photos from photobucket when this all started as a fail safe measure. Then I moved them to Flickr where I already had an account. So I now use Flickr.
