The Fishing Notes of John Voelker from the American Museum of Fly Fishing

I found this link to the American Museum of Fly Fishing on another BB.

This is a great read about John Voelker, Michigan Supreme Court Justice, and author who published "Anatomy of a Murder under the pseudonym of Robert Traver. He also published Trout Madness, Trout Magic, Anatomy of a Fisherman and many other books.

I spent a number of years living in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan fishing some of the waters Voelker might have fished. Matter of fact that film looks like it was filmed in the UP.

I can honestly say that it's the finest fishing I have ever been exposed to and I've fished all over the USA. The shear diversity of sport fishes in the UP is staggering and so is the rugged and remote beauty. And the sizes they grow to....I miss it terribly.

Great writer and outdoorsman. The bio on Voelker on the AMFF web site is really excellent also!
