I've heard of cuttbows, but real men fish for RainCutts or CuttyRainBrowns.

alright you inspired me... farted around today with a daiichi 1150 #16, used green vinyl ribbing, black ice ss, and a black tungsten bead with the under body done with cream thread. looks killer. so, i may have to submit two ties to the swap

developing yer own style is fine and dandy as long as you're tight with yer fundementals and proportions. style takes a while to develop. hey I like yer fly too y'know. |

"MIMIC" = fundementals and proportions.......your step is misguided..."style takes a while to develop" like "patience"....not true for some and many as a matter of fact....

Why green dubbing ? If you want color to show through the tubing lay down a thread base in the color of your choice. Using dubbing will not leave a smooth surface and when you wrap your tubing it will not look good as there will be low and high spots.

I've tied something similar w/ touch dubbed thread rib in the ribs grooves. adds a little something something.

But to use it as an underbody I'd just wrap a thread base. |
