Fish ID

A buddy of mine sent me a photo of a fish he caught here in AZ a few days ago. He asked if I thought it was a cut throat. I believe it is what do you all think?

Beautiful fish! I assume that came from a lake. I may be totally wrong but that could be a cutbow since it has a nice rainbow line along the lateral line in addition to the cutthroat. All though if it indeed came from a lake it may not be too likely that bows and cuts would spawn without a feeder creek also so I could be way off.. Sweet fish none the less!

I used to catch fish back in Tennessee like that in the Smokies. I'm guessing that lots of wild rainbows have some cutthroat lineage from stocking programs and hatcheries many years ago. Looks like a rainbow to me though that slash under its jaw definitely suggests some cutt in the distant past...
