oak creek flies

im gonna head down to oak creek in the morning. anybody have any suggestions on what flies to try? i havent had much success down there this winter. any input would be greatly appreciated! thanks

Haven't fished Oak this winter as I had hoped but in fall they were slamming Orange Stimis all day.

gonna hike to head waters, more of a hiking trip

but bringing the rod just in case

They like the Higa's SOS there too. I fished at some campground up past the west fork I believe its called? Only been once, caught a lot.

Try Zebra midges sixe 18 or smaller. They almost always produce this time of year and seem to be the only thing that I catch teh browns on.

how was Oak Creek? Was there alot of snow in the canyon? I was thinking about going up there today in the morning.

well there was a snow storm so it was a little slow,
but the farther you go up from the west fork the more snow there is
got some leftover stockers on some droppers, and a six-inch brown before we had to call it
