Flows Finalized For the Juan

Just found at that evidently ramp up and ramp down have been (possibly) finalized. thought I'd share in case anybody wants to know.

April 24, 2012 - BOR Flow Schedule for Spring Runoff - Today the BOR (Bureau of Reclamation) announced changes in flow for the San Juan spring runoff. The flow will be gradually increased beginning May 13, 2012 and will reach 5,000 cfs on May 16, 2012. The flow will remain at 5,000 cfs from May 16, 2012 through May 22, 2012 and will begin ramping back down beginning May 23 through May 25. After ramping down the flow will be at either 500 cfs or 1000 cfs depending on flow from the Animas. If the Animas is low, the San Juan will run at higher flows to make up the difference.

End of Day release schedule for Navajo Dam

May 13 500 cfs

May 14 2000 cfs

May 15 3200 cfs

May 16 5000 cfs

May 17 5000 cfs

May 18 5000 cfs

May 19 5000 cfs

May 20 5000 cfs

May 21 5000 cfs

May 22 5000 cfs

May 23 3400 cfs

May 24 2200 cfs

May 25 500 cfs

Don't quote me on this, but it appears this will be what happens.

I'd love to hit it the 19th or 20th, but I'll be getting home from a long work road trip and am heading to Texas the following weekend. Guess there's always next year! The 24th should be off the charts.

Does this mean that you are back from your trip, Chad?

I have a reservation at Pine Campground I will be arriving late on the 5th, fishing the 6th, 7th, 8th, and probably most of the 9th before heading to southwest Colorado to fish with a forum member for some brookies and cutts on the 10th. I would be really happy to meet up with you Chief and Chad at least one or more of those days cuz' I'm sure I'd learn something . oh yeah, and there is also the fact that I've never been to the Juan before .

If anything I am glad they are pushing back flows because my trip will more closely coincide with ramp-down.
