Summer Reading Suggestions?

Spending a few weeks up in the North Woods of Wisconsin. When not casting mouse patterns for LMB, was hoping to get into a good fly fishing-related book (not a how-to book). I have read all the John Gierach books (really good) and A River Runs Through It. Ideas?

If you want a good laugh, anything by Patrick McManus will do. It's not necessarily fly fishing, although some of his books do have humorous fly fishing stories in them, but if you love the outdoors you'll probably enjoy his books.

I just finished An Entirely Synthetic Fish: How Rainbow Trout Beguiled America and Overran the World by Anders Halverson. It was a very accessible, easy to read, and extremely interesting natural history of rainbow trout in the US; how they came to be planted in so many of our rivers and streams, the impact of that on native fishes, and how states are managing their fisheries now. It also gave me a much greater appreciation of the wildly competing interests and interest groups that state agencies like AZGFD have to manage.

At the risk of repeating some authors and titles from the first thread...I would like to share some of my favorites from selling flyfishing literature/instructional manuals for 15 years and a lifetime of reading such stuff:

2 favorite anthologies, the second of which I recently completed reading:
Fisherman's Bounty...Nick Lyons
Seasons of the Angler.....David Seybold

They have to be out of print, so used bookstores /Amazon may be the only way to go for the anthologies

Of course, John Gierach, if you find any of his work you have not yet read; my favorite is still Flyfishing Small Streams...but I have two friends/mentors who are lesser known, but are still worth reading:
Frank Mele...Small in the Eye of the River (in Fisherman's Bounty anthology))
Rex Johnson, Jr............The Quiet Mountains,

Haunting used bookshops and flea markets - I go to local Friends of the Library sales - can provide some opportunities for finding flyfishing literature economically.
