C&r

After driving up Friday morning we got on the river for a while in the afternoon. I landed one decent fish.

Wtn_Mtn netted him for me. While I was unhooking and releasing, he snapped a couple photos:

So that is all fine and dandy. Here is the cool part: Wht_Mtn caught the same fish the next day.

Just a note....see how my reel is in the water?

That was bad news on Sunday when it was brutally cold. Fortunately, it did not get into the drag system.......so I did not lose any fish, but I did have to kick-start the spool a couple times.

The Galvan Torque solved those frozen spool problems for me this year. Last year my reel locked up constantly.

My battenkill was getting killed with ice.
I had to keep dunking it all day on Sunday to keep it from locking up.

I got sealed drags in my Tioga & Litespeed. I assume that keeps you from any problems? Wasn't there for the Sunday cold snap.

Nice fish! All these pictures are killing me. I might have to make some time for the San Juan when I'm out west this summer....

That iced up drag can be brutal. I think pimp said he exploded a reel that froze up on sunday.
