Wow! That's amazing that trout from Woods/Willow revived in your sink after your drive home. Especially with using tap water. The chlorine or chloramine in tap water alone would kill a healthy trout very fast, let alone one that sat on just ice for a couple hours.

But they say in our first aid training to always attempt to revive people that have been pulled out of icy water because the extreme cold slows everything down so much that they could survive a long time with no heartbeat. Likely the same with animals.
