Had a chance to meet fran... got a copy of his booked signed. I still have a bunch of his flies as well as a furled leader that he made. Nice fellar. He was way more interested talking with my wife than me.
He was the authority on that river.

Thanks for all the information. On my way now. Packed the 5wt and the 4wt. Brought my tying kit. Can I wet wade or is it all wafers? I'm ready for both. I will report after I fish. I still have a CA report to post.

Thanks,
Scott

It's 90+ and humid. I would wet-wade but many people wear waders. Looking forward to your report.

I imagine wafers would get quite soggy in the water, my advice is no use bringing those.

I of course kid. Funny typo. I have made many as well.

I stayed for a long weekend up at the ausable in the winter, it was about 5 degrees so there was no chance of fishing and everything was frozen over.
Nice place to fish april-may depending how much snow runoff.

Flydrifter,

I don't know if you're still up in NY, but I hit the Ausable a couple weeks ago and it fished pretty good. Morning was definitely better. Hope you were able to find some water.

Bringing back an old post...

I am heading up to the Ausable this coming weekend. Any more recent experiences to share?
