Heading to Austin

I'm going to be spending a significant time in Austin over then next couple of months. Definately will hit the Guadalupe. Anyone here have some insight on other waters you're willing to share? I can do anything within a two hour drive of Austin. Thanks in advance.

Cheers,
Chad

I gained 8 pounds in Austin last month. Gotta take it easy on the food!

And I do want to wet a lie now and then... I fished a lot around Austin in the '80s but don't remember where those little ponds are.

Tons of fishing there. Town Lake and Lake Austin can be very good. Make sure to bring the float tube/pontoon. 4 hours south and the redfish fishing is spectacular. Travis is way down and the fishing has really suffered there. The big Gar in Georgetown or Decker are fun too!

I fished there in the early 80s and there seemed to be bass in every little pond and the river parkway area. Spent a month there racing.

Some of those gar are 7 feet long and tough as nails. Lots of stripers, white bass and hybrids too. Bad part is every inch of shoreline is private land.
