We fished in mid January on one of the coldest weeks/weekends in the last 30years of NM history and the river was still WAY to damn crowded. June / July / August is going to be a friggin zoo. I'll stick to Juanuary.

Who cares if it's like a zoo, I have met some great people during this times from all over the world and to this day we still keep in contact and sharing your local skills on dry fly tactics is what I enjoy.
I have always have been able to fish with great success with it being crowded or not. I have fished with many new people during this time and wheather you come in Jan. or July your in for a treat....and I will be there no matter what just like the 4 other times I visit..

Many people, but even more fish. I saw many fish swimming in the riffles when I was trying to cross the main channel. Fish were swimming between my legs while casting at the cable and texas holes. I could only imagine what it would be like to sight fish...must be incredible. With that many fish, and that big of a river, I could imagine a few thousand people there and still being able to find spots to catch fish alone. My only request is that I DO get to sight fish next time I go. Oh yea, and I leave the indicators at home.

Yeah, no indicators needed......and even when it crowded more than 80% of those people still can fish it sucessfully.....and this leaves areas and fish for those who do know the place.

I wasn't speaking of you, "hence your post", I know how you feel already...it still would be nice to get all who would like to fish this time of the year anyway and if you fee different so be it.

I've only fished there in the winter, and I love it.
I can't imagine how sick it would be just fishing dries.

You won't believe the heads coming to the top in the main currents, riffles, back eddies, stillwater, chops, cut banks, and scum lines...I think this is the best time ever and at times t-shirt weather with some rain now and then...I can only say in words but to truely express how I feel you have to be there...

I wouldn't really call it a zoo during the summer. I fished it in the summer the past five years or so w/ out any hassles winding privacy or fish.

and it is nice not freezing yer @$$ off.

at any rate I'll be there shortly after the fourth come **** or high water...then it's off for bigger and better places.
