Present and Accounted For

Got back from Juanuary about 90 minutes ago. Dropped WhtMnt at his place on the way. I’ll post a report with some pics tomorrow. The cliff notes are that it was the coldest weather in 30 years there. Fished Thursday PM, Friday, Saturday and a couple of hours this morning. Today it was in the mid 20’s and it felt like a heat wave compared to the previous 3 days. It probably never made 20 on Friday and barely got there Saturday. Fishing was challenging. We probably had 18 between the two of us for the 4 days. The fish are in great shape.

Thanks to the organizers and I'm looking forward to (a warmer) next year.

I thought about you guys all weekend, wish I was there, but.....in a way was glad I wasn't, much warmer here this weekend. Sounds like you guys had fun despite the weather! Glad you made it home safe.

Brandon just dropped me off about 30 min ago.

That was a LONG day! Woke up way to early hung over, Fished for 6 hrs then drove for 7. Still had just enough energy to check the forums and the pictures from this weekend. There were some pigs caught this weekend. The fish porn over the next few days is going to be fantastic...

I'll try and get my pics posted tomorrow.

Josh

I Am The Skunkmeister

I fell in twice. Just the arm got soaked, and fortunately for me, it didn't freeze and fall off.

I hooked up with three fish. The longest fight was 10 seconds.

I watched the boys standing next to me and on the other side of t-hole spank them pretty good. It was fun to watch.

Everybody caught fish but me. My new name is Juan Skunkmeister.

I did get a lot of practice chucking lead and indicators. I never thought that fishing with size 22 flies on my 6-foot-10 4 wt. would ever be such a challenge.

My S.O. was with, mainly because of years of "wanting to go with" on a fishing trip. I am pretty confident that she won't ask again anytime soon. When we started home she said, "You know, this whole thing is pretty silly." After about 200 miles I said, "Yup."

What an awesome trip! I'm just now getting the feeling back in the tip of my nose, thought for sure I had frost bite Had a blast hanging out and meeting everyone at the potluck. Those elk burritos were killer!

Had a rough start with only 2 fish on Friday, while JoshO was slaying them. The next 2 days, I got lucky and hooked into 14 fish, all about the same size 16" to 19" w/ one 20". Hope everyone had a blast and I can't wait to see some pics.

FYI-I suck w/ the net, so if you ever have a big fish on and I'm anywhere in sight, I should be the last person you ever ask to help net

We are back, JG outfished me 5 to 1, still managed to have fun and survive the massive tooth issues. It was great to hang with everyone, we need to do it again soon.

We thoroughly enjoyed meeting everyone! What a great bunch of guys. Debbie just wasn't into fishing Sunday and volunteered to sit in the truck while I went - no dice on that. I gotta hand it to her for trying Saturday afternoon. So, we were wondering if anyone had a hangover Sunday morning? Hope the Crown was finished off with honor and I should have made another pan of those burritos, huh? If anyone's headed back this way after the thaw, drop a line and maybe we can get together. It was an honor to meet you all!

Phil

Made it home.

Left my camera in Tony's truck, so it will be a couple days till I get a few pics up.

Crazy days, cold.

Fun.
