I enjoyed using my geometric background to understand the different cross-sectional designs of Bamboos when you were discussing the designs here a few years ago.

Latest bamboo rod

Joe that was a long time ago...
Working on the guides to a 7' 6" 5wt. Just need to CP and epoxy the wraps then dip the sections. I'm sure there are others who have projects in the works...

Was that a wire tie you were using to hold the guide foot? Neat idea

Looks to me like maybe it's an orthodontic rubber band. Still a cool idea!

Orthodontics rubber bands. They hold the guides and once you have the wraps started and tightened up with the silk thread you just cut them off. I used to use 1/4 drafting tape but it could be a pain to remove and usually at the worst possible moment. Plus with the orthodontic bands there is no glue residue.

Latest bamboo rod

Here is a photo of the grip on this rod. The rod is a blond 7' 6" 5wt with a Garrison 209 taper. I still need to wrap the tip guides and then get them in the dip tanks.

This might be a better photo of the grip.
