First Jig Hook, First Post

This is my first post here. I met a gentleman at Kiwanis Park while I was fly fishing for the second time ever (with a reel at least, I normally fish Tenkara) and he told me to check this forum out. I'm pretty new to both fly fishing and fly tying, but enjoy tying a variety of patterns on the vise. This is my first fly using a Jig hook, so I thought it would be fitting to be a part of my first post here. I haven't had a chance to fish with it yet. For all I know, I like it more than a trout ever will.

Hook: #14 Hanak 450BL
Bead: Black Tungsten 2.5mm
Thread: UTC Olive 140D
Tail: Lemon Barred Wood Duck
Hot Spot: UTC FL Orange 140D
Abdomen: Hare's Ear Ice Dub
Thorax: Mixture of Ginger English Hares Ear Blend/SLF Red Fox Squirrel

I was thinking the the same. I wouldn't kick that fly out of bed.

Yes, welcome. This is a great forum to discover a lot about fly fishing in AZ, as well as plenty opinions about everything!
But fishing is always better, eh?

Welcome Jay! Good proportions on those bugs. I like the hook too.
