Peck's Lake

Is Peck's lake, near Cottonwood, an old tailings pond or are there trout in the lake?

A brief Google search provided some info: Take the Last Train To Clarkdale..then avoid the lake at all costs....3,333 ft elevation, exactly half of 6,666 so very bad luck.

Said no trout or native species..and old tailings pond so, like the ponds in the old mining town of Ruby, I would not eat the fish

Owned by Phelps dodge, private property. I hear they will prosecute every time. Supposed to be a big bass and bluegill lake.

Pecks is an ox bow lake off the Verde River, used to be avilable for recreation....closed now. Full of big largemouths, other warm water species. Have caught 6 pounders and up in past. Used to be a pleasure to canoe the lake. Much wild life.
