Mormon Lake

Are there trout in Mormon Lake?

If there are, it is the best kept secret.

Game and Fish does, on occasion, stock trout in the kiddie pond next to the lodge and gas station for fishing clinics. Back in the early 80's when there was more water, there were pike and bullheads in Mormon. Some believe pike still remained in the ponds near the fire station at the south end. If so, they will certainly move out into the main lake. Mormon is just not a reliable body of water for creating a good fishery.

I thought I heard that there were some walleye in Mormon Lake years ago, but I also think walleye like a deeper water, and that lake is not very deep.

There are walleye in Upper Lake Mary, but I've never heard of them being in Mormon.
