I should have been tying for salt water the last few days but,,,,

I only tied up some DHMs.... I can only tie a little bit at a time and I keep tying what I need for saggy instead of my upcoming trip...
I'll bet these DHMs will work for the jersey shore fish...
Anybody ever fish the eel flies and cinder worm flies they use on the jersey shore?
Think 3 inch DHMs and Clousers will work as well as the sand eels deals?

Tie up the sand eels. Use Chartreuse green mylar tubing and tie a trailer on it with dumbell eyes. Baitfish patterns should be longer than 3in. I'd say 5" and longer.

here is a Gartside sand eel patern.

Thanks. I'll get on it and I have the Gartside book you reference. I'll probably take tying stuff with me too.

Puglisi baitfish paterns are the Bomb in Salt.

Agreed! Though EP fiber isn't my favorite material for that style of fly anymore.

When are you going to be up there Todd?
