Northern Ends of Verde

I was just looking at someone's comments about fishing Oak creek and the Verde and I got curious about the Verde up on the northern ends of it in the Sycamore canyon area. is there any fish up there and has anyone recently had anything to say about it?

Mostly roundtail chubs with a few smallmouth bass and suckers thrown in. Not worth the effort, imho.

I've hiked the Parson's trail, which runs along the creek for about 4 miles. Didn't get into any chub, but did get small LM and SM bass along with lots of red ear sunfish. All quite small, but fun on a fiberglass 3 weight. Haven't fished the Verde further down, is that where to find the chub?
