West Fork Sedona report
Nothing.
Hiked up the 3.5 miles of the "normal" trail. Didn't see any fish or really any food for them, I guess the creek truly hasn't recovered? I did see another fly fisherman heading up but didn't get the chance to talk with him. |
The West Fork of Oak Creek has an unstable watershed and washes all fish out at every high rain event.
|
Yeah, I have hiked and fished that a couple of times this summer with zero luck in seeing or catching anything.
|
The upper reaches of the East Verde above First Crossing have been fishing well for some time. Lots of cold, clear water being discharged from CC Cragin is bringing a fair amount of nutrients for these Rainbow's and they are eager to eat your bugs.
Perhaps a change is in order from Oak creek to the East Verde? Something to think about... |
