Fishing Damsels and scuds

Wanted some help with my set up for fishing damsels, buggers and scuds. What line would you use if you’re fishing them from shore... what length of leader... what size tippet... would you use 2 flies or or only 1... any additional advice would be greatly appreciated

Though I normally fish from a float tube, I would look at using clear intermediate fly lines...maybe even a clear tip on a float/sink outfit.. to fish damsel, scuds, etc.

Not much need for long leaders, 8-10', with this setup, and a 2-fly rig with a damsel in front should be good.

Currently there a a lot of bass and bluegill fry in our southern lakes in close to shore, so that is dominating our imitations right now, but adult damsels are flying around and that means plenty of nymphs around the weeds and shallows.

when fishing buggers or other larger streamers I use level mono for my fly line to fly connection. 6-8 feet or so of 10 lb mono for me. No tippet. Just tie a perfection loop in the end and attach to the end of your fly line. Tie on your bugger and cover water. Move move move. Too much leader and tippet when fishing heavy rigs is cumbersome.

Also try a slow overhand twist retrieve with damsel nymphs.
